Practice submitted to ORU Fogar’s II Regional Best Practice Award by the Basque Government (Spain) on the 28th of April 2017, with input record number 2 and a total score of 509 points.

 
 
 

MANA is the Departmental Plan for Food and Nutritional Security, which was built with the participation of the public and private sectors with the support of the Secretariats of Education, Agriculture, Health, Planning, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare -ICBF, the University of Antioquia with its School of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Social Paediatrics Unit, the Santa Ana Clinic and some NGO´s; through a comprehensive and intersectoral approach seeking the participation and empowerment of the community with a high educational component.

The general objective is to improve the food and nutritional situation of the most vulnerable population through an integral strategy of organization and social participation implemented in the 125 municipalities of the Department, developing six thematic axes in which education and social work are transversal.
