The project of Family food security productive units under the greenhouse modality  was created with the aim of improving the quantity, quality and variety of food in the homes of the most vulnerable rural and peri-urban population of the municipalities of Gómez Plata, Carolina del Príncipe, Guadalupe and Angostura in the department of Antioquia. The above, through the production of food for self-consumption at the family level with surpluses for local marketing, implementing a sustainable agroecological garden, from the pedagogical model of "learning-by-doing" and under the greenhouse modality for each of the 32 participating families. In these productive units, 12 vegetables culturally accepted in the territory were planted in a staggered manner, as well as at least 4 varieties of fruit trees and / or bread taken in the surroundings of the lots or the greenhouse, a shed of laying hens and chickens, an area for grazing birds and a compost heap for organic waste management. All this accompanied by activities of technical assistance, food education and support.
