As part of its commitment to gender equality and the territorialization of public policies, ORU Fogar’s Gender Working Group will support the new edition of the University Diploma in Training of Community Companions Against Gender-Based Violence, an initiative led by the Women’s Secretariat of the Government of the Córdoba Province (Argentina), with the support of the Network of Universities for Non-Violence.
This training program, which has already qualified more than 49,000 people, is presented as a high-impact public policy aimed at strengthening community capacities to address gender-based violence from a territorial, place-based, and intersectional perspective.
In its previous edition, the Diploma was offered at more than 40 venues, coordinated with civil society actors, universities, and community institutions. For the upcoming edition, the goal is to expand this network to new territories. In this context, ORU Fogar invites its member regions to apply as virtual host sites.
These host sites play a key role: they allow individuals without digital access to participate in the training, promote collective engagement, and strengthen the territorial root of the training process. The only technical requirement to become a host site is to have reliable internet connectivity and, if necessary, to have a simultaneous translation service.
Regions interested in participating can contact the General Secretariat of ORU Fogar or the Gender Working Group to receive more information on how to coordinate their participation.
